We were slated to take 7 furlough days between January-May if Proposition 30 didn't pass.
Also, the district has been getting us ready for up to 32 kids in K-3. However, due to Proposition 30 passing, we're not going to have to worry about that and we'll maintain status quo.
I'm so relieved. I truly can't imagine having 8 extra kiddos next year. The furlough days/pay cut I can deal with, but having so many more students would've been difficult!
I guess the phone banking, door-to-door precinct walking, and social media (shameless) plugs helped out! I'm proud of my union for getting us all involved. Our hard work paid off and our kids will (hopefully) continue to get the best possible services from us!
I'm certain my family will be relieved that I'll be able to get off my soapbox now (until the next issue that I'm passionate about, at least)!
