Can you keep a secret?
What's the biggest one you've kept & from whom?
I can keep a secret! Other than of course surprisng those with Christmas/birthday presents, like we all do, I'd say keeping this concert of my BF's favorite Christian singer a secret that we're going to on Nov. 26th.
Not any huge ones. We planned a 25th wedding anniversary party for my parents a few years ago, and managed to keep it a secret from Mom (we had to tell Dad in order to get him to come since it was during hunting season!).
Well I kept my elopement a secret for a really long time. We were planning for months on just showing up to CO in January and being like "well! We're going to get married! Tomorrow!" But for certain reasons we ended up telling me and my novio's immediate family.
My extended family doesn't know, my friends don't know, my coworkers don't know, etc.
Not the biggest, but one secret I have kept was a celebration for my mother's 75th birthday. My sister and I had a women's tea at a local tearoom, and invited all of my mom's girl cousins, as well as her daughter in laws and granddaughters. It was a wonderful surprise!
I'm good at keeping things to myself, so I know a whole lot of secrets from different people. Not telling their secrets, though.
Apparently the biggest one I've ever kept was about my divorce. Nobody had any idea I was planning anything until he moved out. Then only a very few people knew until the court news came out in the paper. Even now there are people who don't know I'm divorced, and it was final in early July.
I dated a guy my parents wouldn't approve of for a two years and didn't tell them because of all of the conflict it would produce.
Speaking of dating, my very 1st date was my HS prom when I was 18, but my 2nd date was that summer with this guy I met from my first job & we were going to the movies. I had/have such strict parents, I didn't know how to tell them, so I pretended I was going to the movies with my friend. Little did they know I was going to meet this guy. They never found out, but I very soon told them about the guy I had met & he & I ended up dating for about 4 yrs.
