Am I right in guessing his kidneys were beaten into submission during a work training exercise? Yikes! I'm glad he will recover.

Oh how scary -- Adding my positive thoughts and prayers for his strong recovery and that his job will of course take him back open arms because they know the value of looking after their own.

This is like a roller coaster
They have to do a biopsy of his kidney and they are gonna do dialysis.
The dialysis is to give his kidneys a rest

it is Rhabdomyolysis.

http://www.webmd.com/a-to-z-guides/r...ses-treatments is a page on the diagnosis, if anyone's interested. The root
rhabdo - is 'skeletal',
myo - is 'muscle', and
lysis is 'dissolving or breakdown' as in
analysis . When skeletal muscle fiber gets broken down rapidly, the metabolic result passes through the kidneys, which Do Not Appreciate the additional load.

Look after yourself, too. Grandpas need to stay healthy to help the family.
