Why can't I post on certain threads?

I tried adding a post to a thread in general education but I was unable to. Do I need more forum posts before I am able to post anywhere?

You should be able to post in gen Ed...you may not be able to post links there, but a 'general' pst should go thru.

I know this is a month old but I had the same problem in the gen ed section. I tried to post but it didn't seem to go through. When I sent it again, it said something about it needing moderator approval and a poll. hmm I didn't start a poll...I don't think...lol.
