I'm taking the English 0049 as well soon and I wanted to know how to be well prepared especially not having school for 6 years i downloaded the cliff notes english and have Anita book praxis are those enough... I also read sparknotes a little.
Im entering the career switcher program as well in VA

unfortuanately not I'm actually an accounting major I'm actually applying for the career switcher program in VA to be come a teacher as i feel I'd like it more my dream its to make a difference and I feel teaching makes a difference and I love English

A blunt question: are your posts here fairly comparable in vocabulary, sentence structure, and mechanics to your writing elsewhere? If so, it would make sense to invest some time in brushing up on grammar and all that. Purdue University's Online Writing Lab ( http://owl.english.purdue.edu/) is likely to be helpful, as is the ELS-oriented Using English ( http://www.usingenglish.com).

If the Tests at a Glance doc (which I'm not now looking at) gives a list of works of literature, you need to be able to discuss those. If it doesn't, you'll be showing off that you can analyze a passage you haven't necessarily seen before, so it's less a matter of knowing the story in advance than of knowing the tools of literary analysis.

How are things working out for you. I believe some of your other posts indicate you are in Accounting. Me too!! I am going to switch things around a little and go into English instead of Language Arts. I am overwhelmed by the amount of material to learn. I'm so focused on the Praxis that I am sort of ignoring the other test. I wanted to take Praxis in March.

I'm good thanks for asking ?Ya i graduated from accounting, but I want to be a qualified English teacher . Im overwhelmed by the materials as well I dont know where to search or start . I'm literally ignoring the other exam like you.
And how r u studying and preparing yourself; which may help me as well. Cool will take the same things as to help each other
