It has been my experience that schools tend to welcome male teachers.
What grade level are you student teaching in and how is it going? Do you have any concerns about your experience that will lead you to question whether you will be hired?

I am a male teacher. For the last 20+ years I have taught grades 3, 4, or, 5. It won't hurt you at all being male. It could make things easier to get a job, but probably not in most places. Principals now really want the best and whether you are a male or a female is getting lower on their list. They want the best teachers they can get...period.

Education (at least at the teaching level) is sooooo very female populated! My babies desperately need to interact with professional males. I agree, though, that Ps want teachers who are good, who are willing to learn new techniques & ideas, and who are team players!

Absolutely not - it is probably an advantage.
