Writing test in 3 wks. How do you prepare your students?
Ugh. My class is struggling. We've been working on noun/verbs all year and they still don't get the difference. We've been writing in journals, writing letters, summaries. They are killing me. Why is writing so hard to teach? Any tips on how to move them along? Thanks.
Model your writing for students. Use student writing to model how to revise and then have students help you revise your writing or other student writing.
Keep students writing everyday. Conference with students about their writing. Don't focus so much on grammar until they actually have written a piece that addresses the topic and is organized. Then go back and work on grammar.
