Hello! I've been lurking on here for a couple months now and decided to dive in. I am not a teacher although it runs in the family. I did originally want to go into elementary ed (still might in the future) but life pulled me in other directions before I applied for graduate school. I might be a slightly atypical user but I'm hoping I can add to the discussion and enhance the site!
Education has always been interesting to me and I'm currently doing research for a non-fiction book on the topic. My mother is retiring this year after 20 years and we frequently talk in depth about curriculum changes, standardized tests, and parents that drive her up the wall
Anywho, I look forward to participating finally! I've found this site to be a very intelligent, kind, and practical community (rare on the internet nowadays).
