An update: it's possible that a teacher candidate who goes through GaTAPP can be exempted on the basis of education; see

Whether or not GaTAPP is the program of choice, however, the wise candidate will confirm this for his or her own case, via either GAPSC's Educator Preparation unit (see the link at the bottom of the menu on the left of the page I just cited) or by contacting a couple of universities with teacher preparation programs and asking there.
