I was thinking of joining Sams but one is 45 minutes away and one is across a bridge that I hate. We have another store similar to Sam's and Costco that is closer. We got a "free 60 day pass" but we have not used it yet.
Sam's Club is owned by the same parent company as Wal-Mart. I haven't looked into their business practices, but I try to give that company as little of my money as possible.
Right now, Costco has these wonderfully wrapped, good-sized Ghirardelli chocolate (plastic) metallic gift buckets in a pretty blue or red for only $14.69. They make wonderful gifts. I got one for each of my two mentors at work.
I like Costco. We don't have Sam's Club, but we do have Wal*Mart (which is their sister store). I go to Wal*Mart to purchase things I can't buy at Costco.
To be honest, though, my favorite store is Target!

I love Target too & I live across the street from the nicer of the two in my area. There's another location several minutes away. I like just going just to go for no reason, but that's dangerous for me! I plan on just browsing or getting just a couple of things & I end up spending $50.
