How often are you able to attend workshops and conferences for professional development? I'm not talking about a meeting during an early release day, training for a new math program, etc. I'm talking about a Daily 5/CAFE workshop presented by the sisters, a state reading convention, etc.

I'm bummed out, because I really wanted to attend my state's reading convention. I even offered to pay for my own travel expenses, which the district usually covers (gas, hotel, food), but I was told no. As of right now, I am attending a Debbie Diller Math Workstations workshop later this year, which I am thankful for. I would love to attend more, though!

Do you have professional days? We get two professional days a year and are able to use them as we need, provided we can get a sub.

It varies. If I see something I want to go to I ask. They will pay for the registration fee and that's it. Hotel, gas, food etc. is on you.

We get one or two a year (depends on how much it costs). Sometimes we can get an extra if it is a district initiative.

My principal just approved D5 and CAFE PD for myself a 3 other teachers! I am sooooooo excited!

We are not ever made to attend anything outside of contract time, but I asked for this one.
