Is there a reason why 'Last Activity' date and time can be seen on some member's profile pages and not on others?

I always thought of it being due to the fact that some people are "hidden".

When you click on User CP and then on Edit Options, you will see an option to choose invisible mode:
"Invisible mode allows you to browse the forums without appearing in the 'Currently Active Users' lists."
That's what I'm assuming, at least.
